Zone Captains:
Please complete #1 and #2 Zone Reports for the compiler.
Please request observers to complete a Rare Bird Report if needed.

The following forms are using a different platform this year. It may be more user-friendly for you.
#1 ZONE EFFORT REPORT:   
This is  required  information, please use this form if possible. (updated 2023)
Effort  must be documented  to complete our data for Birds Canada and Audubon.

#2 ZONE BIRD LIST REPORT:   
This is required information. The online form is the preferred method but please use  whatever works best for you!
This list is for the total of all birds seen in your zone.

This option only requires an internet connection. This form allows you to edit after submission so you can do it in sections, or make changes.    More details on the form. It will auto send to the compiler.

​RARE BIRD REPORT
Please ask the observer to complete this form if you are reporting a rare bird in your zone.
​Without   good documentation,  a rare bird may not be accepted by Birds Canada for the Count.   
​
This form  is requested as needed for "C" list birds   (or birds not on any  list).   Record photos are encouraged.

The following forms may be helpful to some captains.
2023 excel file may be used to tally zone birds. It's  a 3 sheet ABC format:     Download  File
2023 pdf file  to print for handwritten entry. It's 2 pages with space for 10 of your counter groups. Print it more than once as needed:    Download File
Captains may  print  the forms below (if you like to work on paper) to  record  the numbers  that come in from your  counters. Add them up to arrive at the numbers required to fill out your 2 required reports.

Some  captains  print this form  to give  to their bush beaters  if they hold a morning meeting. It may assist   participants with recording their observations if they don't have an eBird user in their group.
